"live in the woodshed" is exactly what it sounds like: a concert performed live in a woodshed, to an audience of zero. it was partially meant as a joke, this stripping away of the one thing that makes live performances unique (see: a crowd), but it ended up being less ironic than intended. at any rate, the acoustics were great, and the sense of isolation gave me free reign to indulge every silly impulse that I had. the fact that I recorded this album during a transitional period in my life -- after a two-month road trip, and while my wife and I were trying to figure out what we were going to do with our lives -- gives it a certain sentimentality that will always stick with me.
